If The Shirt Fits
By: cathal | May 26th, 2009Last week, I asked you guys to give your opinion on what is speculated to be our new strip for next season (see here). You voted as follows;
In favour of both shirts - 44%
Liked the home kit, but not the 3rd strip – 36%
Hated both shirts – 12%
Liked the 3rd kit but not the home strip – 4%
Couldn’t care less – 4%
It seems that the home shirt is strongly admired but the away kit is splitting us all in half. I am a big fan of the home kit; it’s simplistic, it’s sky blue and it’s Lazio. As for the 3rd kit, the more I look at it, the more I can appreciate it but ultimately, it doesn’t do it for me. I don’t know what that design around the neck is, but it’s a throwback to those ghastly goalkeeping shirts of the 1980’s. Actually, the 3rd kit wouldn’t look too bad on Muslera. For the rest of the team? No, hate it.
This week’s poll is transfer related. Hypothetically speaking, if you could only bring in one player this summer, what position would you be looking to strengthen? Where are we weakest on the pitch. I don’t want ridiculously idealistic logic such as “I wouldn’t mind Messi or Ronaldo so…right midfield.” Quite simply, where are we inadequate. My vote goes for a strong and reliable centre-back. 53 goals conceded i think is just too much if you want european competition, for a relegation place it might be good enough.

Allright Cathal? I definitely think we need a new striker, especially if Pandev is leaving. Zarate is good, but tends to stray out wide, so a real central striker is definitely necessary. We dont need to sign a new centre back, we just need to not start Siviglia. I think the home shirt is sweet, but the 3rd is almost identical to the current 3rd strip. FORZA LAZIO!!!

yeah well i dont know whats most important to strenghten because i think we need to get players in all sections of teh feild. firstly we defenitely need a center back if not 2 just anything to keep siviglia off the feild, in midfeild depending on certain other things like de silvestri and matuzalem we could need a good right mid and center mid(personally i would like to see de silvestri and licht on the right but if de silvestri leaves we will need someone for right mid) and then up front i have to agree with stef and say that we need a central striker who will just score lots and lots of goals for us. we definately need to concede lots less goals next season and i thnk that is possible especially if muslera plays like he has this season and we get a new center back and hopefully our consistancy will improve!
