Life Goes On
By: cathal | September 15th, 2009I am sure anybody who saw Saturday’s game will agree with me when I say it was a performance that displayed copious amounts of team spirit and high work rate. However, I can’t help but wondering what difference would Pandev or Ledesma have made to the end result. In my opinion, our team spirit has improved from last year despite all the issues we had over the summer but would Goran and Cristian have provided the cutting edge which we appeared to lack? Obviously we lacked matchwinners in Zarate and Rocchi but would the ‘dissidenti’ have helped our cause?

I’m in two minds about it as I look at both sides of the coin. How much of our performance can be attributed to having solid, motivated players and how much did our lack of firepower and defensive cover hurt us? Goran can clearly make the difference in big games; we have seen it on many an occasion but how much of an effect can he have now that he doesn’t truly want to be here? He is only human and surely the last few months would affect his game? As for Cristian, we know that he cuts out runs and loose balls on a regular basis but with Baronio doing a stellar, if slightly different job in that position, would his class still prevail? It’s a difficult question to answer.

Thus, for this week’s poll, I’m asking you if you would reinstate these guys until January at least or are you happy with these spirited and hard fought performances? Would you mess with what appears to be a successful formula in a bid to improve our fortunes or would you let things stay as they are and hope we are on the right path? Please vote below and I will reveal the results next week.
Pandev and Ledesma; is it time to reinstate them?(poll)
As for last week’s poll, I asked you to tell me if you thought an international debut for Zarate would be a positive or negative outcome. 75% of you think he would deserve a call-up and improve as a player should he receive it while 22% of you believe it could hinder his performance for us. Interesting results and if we are to go with the majority, let’s hope Maradona sees the light soon enough.
This will be a busy week and the blog will be full of posts so keep in the know by checking back here every once in a while. Forza Lazio!

I think we should include Pandev. I’m sure he doesn’t want to damage his stock by trying to sabotage the team and we need ledesma .. i can’t stand baronio although he really isn’t as bad as i though he would be.

Can’t stand Baronio?
How long have you been a Lazio fan Nick?
Baronio is the bees knees. Him and Pirlo were supposed to be the up and coming italian midfield. He was with us in his youth but never got into our then stellar midfield.
I have to say, I am so biased, that I love to see him play, even when he is playing crap – he was that young hopeful for Lazio that never really cut it/or given the chance. Now he has!
Quality.

no pnadev no ledesma we are doing great and if we reinstate them something can change.and why making changes?when things are just fine. let’s be honest.2 weeks ago nobody thought of reinstating them so why now? FORZA LAZIO

Because frankly no footballer deserves to be treated like they have. EVEN IF they have expressed a desire, at some point, to move on. The PFA is supporting them in this and Lazio look bad for what they have done.
I am not saying they should play, but they shouldn’t be marginalised like they have. I mean, Foggia upfront in attack instead of the proven record of Pandev?
If Pandev plays and scores the curva will go bonkers for him.Posted from

I wouldn’t mind seeing Ledesma being played because there is still a very slight chance that he will renew and he is also no causing a disturbance for the team the way Pandev has. With Zarate Rocchi and Cruz playing, there is no need for Pandev in my opinion especially knowing he will be sold in January why should we waste time playing him when that time can be used to help the team chemistry of the players who are planning on staying.

if we were good as we were back in the days would pandev and ledesma act like this i agree with some of u that lotito is not the president that we all wanted but i also agree with him that lazio is not a taxi and by the time u become a decent player to do whatever u want to do

I agree with Pannozzo. Their situations are different. Ledesma shouldn’t be grouped with Goran. His agent has fucked him over and how he’s reaping the consequences.
Goran on the other hand has handled everything terribly. Football wise, Ledesma means more to us as well.

I’d like to see Ledesma back in the team. Baronio is playing really well but it’d add more depth to the midfield if we reinstate Ledesma. Pandev has shown that he’s a class player but he lacks the professionality to become a world class player.
You can see by the way he handled this and earlier he also threw a tantrum with the macedonia squad causing katenec to quit.Posted from

What am I hearing of these good rumours of Rafael Van Der Vaart coming to Lazio for the £10 million we will get for Pandev. I don’t know if it’s real, but I like it. FORZA LAZIO!!!!

He will leave Real Madrid. the only reason he is still there is because his wife has cancer and is undergoing treatment there. In January, his situation will be different and although it’s worth a try, I think he will get better offers even if he doesn’t strike me as a money guy.
