The ‘Bad’ Mercato: Discussed + Poll
By: cathal | September 7th, 2009Last week I asked you to let me know if you thought out mercato was positive or negative and 69% of you expressed a general dissatisfaction towards our wheeling and dealing. In my opinion, this was to be expected and tomorrow I will discuss what may or may not be done to put it right in January. In the meantime, check these videos out if you have any time on your hands. In the episode below, friend of the blog, Michael di Mascio discusses our mercato with Daniele D’Ambrosio. I watched it earlier and I think it is definitely worth 15 minutes of your day. Let me know your opinion in the comments section.
As for this week’s poll, it’s all about Maurito. In the wake of Argentina’s disappointing defeat to Brazil last weekend, many individuals, including myself, have questioned why Zarate remains excluded from the national squad considering Tevez‘ lack of scoring prowess for his country. I’m asking you if you believe it would be good for Zarate to get a call-up at present. Do you think it would be a great experience and improve him as a player or do you think it is best for Lazio if he doesn’t have to travel and thus avoid the additional fatigue and increased risk of becoming injured. Do you think playing for Argentina is necessary for him to improve as a player or do you think carrying the hopes of a nation at such a young age could be dangerous? Cast your vote below. Forza Lazio!

Hey I found an interview with Shingo “Seabass” Takatsuka, the man behind Pro Evolution Soccer. When asked what his favorite team is and player he tells about his love for Lazio and how he thinks Foggia is an exciting player.

Nice find Gino and hopefully Seabass will ensure that I can actually turn defenders with Rocchi in the latest version
Robert, there’s not much to say on the 2 guys; Cinque is older than I thought (18) but we have many an up-and-coming player in our youth ranks and Lollo doesn’t play much, mainly due to injuries admittedly.
Not much is known about Barreto, Uruguayan, promising striker, looks like he could be a very smart signing but who knows.
And as for Macheda, that is not going to happen anytime soon unless Lotito raids a few banks…

Does anybody know more about the injuries to our attackers for the upcoming Juve match?

The injury to Zarate is not as bad as reported; he is still a doubt but a very small doubt from what I’ve been told.
Rocchi’s thigh is pretty badly bruised and he’s probably now a greater doubt than Maurito.
