Fiorentina – Lazio
By: cathal | February 7th, 2009Lazio will be in Florence tomorrow to take on a Fiorentina side who are hoping to catapult themselves firmly towards the higher echelons of the Serie A table. Our boys will be hoping to get something from the game to halt this incredible run of bad form. It should be a fascinating encounter with much on the line for both sides.
Our 3-0 win against Fiorentina was unquestionably our greatest win of the season. We went into that game with our confidence seering after bagging six points out of nine prior to the game. This time, we go into the game with no points out of nine and the circumstances couldn’t be any more different. We are struggling but hopefully this is where we bounce back. I have to say, the said line up for this game is close to my personal preference.
I’m not sure who will take the goalkeeper’s jersey but after his recent performances, I hope for Muslera. Both Radu and Siviglia are out of this tie so Rozehnal and Cribari are likely to start in the centre with Kolarov and the fully recovered Lichtsteiner on the flanks. The midfield threesome of Ledesma, Matuzalem and Brocchi is probable while Foggia will step into the trequartista role and play behind Zarate and Pandev. Tuia, Mendicino and Faraoni; some of our hottest youth prospects are in the squad and may be on the bench for this game. All in all, it is an exciting line up and one that can be changed about depending on how the game pans out. Seeing a starting eleven with that strength gives me hope for the match.
As for Fiorentina, I’ve watched them on a few occasions and they’re not invincible by any means. Some days they turn it on, some days they just can’t and with a bit of luck tomorrow they will have another bad day and we can capitalise on their misfortune. Nevertheless, it is a quality side they have, Mutu and Gilardino can cause anyone problems and our defence will have to be vigilant at all times. Let’s hope we can nick a result. Forza Lazio!

yeah i have to say that is probably my favourite line up that we have too. maybe meghni in for foggia if he played like he did in the last game as an amf, although i do like foggia in that position too and hopefully he can make some magic and we can win this game

we played well, and burned too many chances. Frey and De Marco robbed us, at least Frey was wearing a purple jersey though. Forza Ragazzi!

Wow,we had to many chances to lose…After the first half we should have had 3 or 4 to 0.Now we can win in the next three games.Champions league is already,i think, just a dream, but we can be 5th or 6th.

Terrible luck.
Manly performance. Excellent in fact.
Good work by Delio Rossi.
Zarate is a talent but currently cursed.
Proud of the performance.
The referee got some choice words from me let me tell you during the match. Stupid *&#£#3#£#!!!Posted from
