Lazio – Palermo
By: cathal | December 19th, 2008It’s that time of year again; everybody’s in fine form, people are throwing parties, having a few drinks together and all in the name of festive cheer. Yep, you’ve guessed it, it’s time to pay tribute to the backside of Manfredini.

Lazio and Palermo have had their fair share of exciting ties in recent years and after our comeback last weekend, I thought it might be nice to remind ourselves of another great fightback. Hopefully we will get by tomorrow without the intervention of Manfre’s ass.
In saying that, it is going to be an incredibly tough game and perhaps a moment of brilliance or just pure luck will be necessary for victory. The starting line up is impossible to predict. Delio may look to that inspirational second half against Udinese to begin choosing his side. In that case, there is a possibility that the tridente may be unleashed from the off. This is likely to result in Foggia sitting on the bench once again. Brocchi looks unlikely to feature having picked up a knock in training. This leaves a spot open for Meghni or Mauri I would think. Rozehnal should return to defence with Delio having to decide between Cribari and Diakite for the other spot. Ledesma, Dabo, Radu and Lichtsteiner are also likely to begin the game.
As for Palermo, they have a dangerous side that can cause problems on any given day. I think it’s almost an inevitability that we will concede tomorrow; with talents such as Miccoli and Cavani in their frontline, it will be difficult to contain them. They’re having a great season, only one point separates us from them in the table and the fact Ballardini has managed to last almost four months as coach under Zamparini says a lot. Palermo are a solid side with sufficient quality in all areas of the field. We will have to be at the top of our game to beat them.
Kick back tomorrow, relax, enjoy the game and don’t forget to pay homage to Sisostri’s ass at some point. I will do so in my own unique way and no, I won’t say what that is. Happy Manfre-day and Forza Lazio!

cathal – nice preview. it’s gonna be a good game tomorrow. unfortunately, Palermo doesn’t play too hot away from home, so it’ll be a tough one for us.

Interesting formation but in all fairness, Delio needs to shake things up.

I know this is not nice to say,but i`m glad that Mauri is injured. There is now more space for Foggia and Meghni who are,for me,much more talented players then Stefano.

Lazio has proven to be a worthy opponent this season. Combine that with our piss-poor away record, I dont like our chances…

I think it’s 50/50. Both sides will be up for this.
