Lazio - Parma

By: salvatore | April 5th, 2008

Well, after a truly hellish stretch of schedule in March, Lazio look to have a relatively easier run in the next few weeks, provided they don’t shoot themselves in the feet. The worst thing we can do is taken anyone for granted, especially with Parma desperate to gain any points possible.

Parma

Delio is reportedly going to keep up the trident attack, with Rolando Whitey and Balboa playing in front of Pandev. Ousmane Dabo is out with suspension, so the midfield might be made up of Mutarelli, Ledesma, and Mudingayi…though if Delio decides to give De Silvestri the start at right back, you can bet that Behrami will take Mudi’s midfield spot.

The big question is just what Rossi is going to do at the back. Despite the fact that Zauri might be available to play finally, he’s apparently going with Behrami and Radu on the flanks, but I’d be surprised if Kolarov and De Silvestri don’t get any time today (if not a last-minute starting spot). They’ve just been playing way too well lately to be rotting on the bench.

As always, Siviglia and Cribari will be in the center of the defense, because evidently, Delio hates the very thought of David Rozehnal.

Delio

On Parma’s end Lucarelli is suspended, which I think helps them. They may be a team fighting for survival, but they have a lot of interesting attacking options, even without that commie bastard. Cigarini (a future superstar imo), Gasbarroni, Reginaldo and Budan are all underrated, and they can all cause a boatload of problems if we give them too much space.

Probable formations:

Lazio
: Ballotta; Behrami, Siviglia, Cribari, Radu; Mutarelli, Ledesma, Mudingayi; Pandev; Rocchi, Bianchi

Parma: Bucci; Zenoni, Falcone, Paci, Castellini; Mariga, Morrone, Cigarini, Reginaldo; Gasbarroni; Budan

Likelihood Lazio blows it: 35%
Likelihood that Zauri gets some minutes: 25%
Likelihood that Delio professes his love for Rozehnal: 0%

Last time these two teams met:

FORZA LAZIO.
