Ah well.
By: salvatore | March 22nd, 2008Playing Fiorentina on the road was never going to be an easy prospect. Playing them on the road with ten men for nearly 55 minutes, damn near impossible.
Still, the boys put in a decent performance, and you can even argue that they might have deserved a point, at least.
In any case, here’s the good, the bad and the ugly from the 1-0 loss in Florence:
The Good:
1) Kolarov and De Silvestri were, once again, very impressive moving forward from the fullback positions, and helped generate a few spot kicks. More playing time for Kolarov please (even if it’s in a midfield spot).
2) Ballotta played a very solid game, and could not be blamed for Pazzini’s goal.
3) David Rozehnal played well in the center of the defense, and even saved us from conceding another goal. I’d like to see him partner Radu in the middle, with the aforementioned Kolarov and De Silvestri playing the flanks.
The Bad:
1) Delio dropped the trident attacking formation.
2) Delio dropped the trident attacking formation to play Mauri.
3) Stefano Mauri.
The ugly:
1) Massimo Mutarelli had his first start in a long time today, and he promptly picked up two yellow cards in 37 minutes (the second one was iffy, but still).
2) Pandev blew two clear chances in the box by firing more or less directly at Fiorentina keeper Avromov.
Not much else they can do but pick themselves up and get ready for Inter.
Have a Happy Easter everyone.

Let’s make a deal… you guys pull at least a tie against Inter this upcoming weekend, and we’ll forgive that “penalty” you got in the derby
But joke aside… It’d be in everyones best interest!
