Lazio 1 - Inter 1
By: salvatore | March 29th, 2008
Riomanistas and conspiracy theorists can say what they like, but Lazio played to win today. The energy level and overall sharpness left a lot to be desired, but after dominating possession, hitting two crossbars, and being denied a penalty on a sketchy Chivu tackle in the box, I think it’s safe to say we could have had the three points today.
Also, just how many balls did Inter block exactly? I lost count in the second half, but we either had a very sloppy and wasteful night, or Maxwell and Maicon are Nerazzurri versions of the Great Wall.

De Silvestri and Behrami had their usually active outings, but I thought Dabo was the strongest on the field tonight, testing Julio Cesar a few times from distance (and striking one of those aforementioned “traversas”), and putting in probably his best performance since returning in January.
We were the better team overall, but there was a definite lack of killer instinct on Lazio’s part, a problem that has pretty much plagued the team for the entirety of this cursed season.

All things considered, a tie against Inter isn’t completely awful (even if we’ve drawn 3 of the last 5 games). We managed to gain a point against the league leaders, and we didn’t really help Rioma Merda (or rather, they didn’t help themselves. Thanks Matteo).
Our hellish stretch of schedule in this second half is now over.
Time to move on and get ready for Cuper and Parma.
FORZA LAZIO.

Lazio…I have to admit I’m surprised. I thought for sure you’d tank this one to ska-roo Roma. In fact though, you we’re the better side today and probably deserved to win.
So…Grazie…
Aw man. Now I have to go kick myself in the jibblies for saying that.
