A Safe Pair Of Hands

By: cathal | October 13th, 2009

We all know what the kid can do and after a massively impressive debut for Uruguay last weekend, it seems likely that Nando will get a shot at the big time by standing in between the sticks as his nation bid to secure World Cup qualification against the struggling Argentina. It is in these kind of games that the boy has attracted our attention and I wish him the best of luck and hopes he proves his worth on the international stage.

In saying that, I hope he doesn’t prove to be of too much worth. Recent speculation suggests that Lotito is set to offer him a deal that would see him rise from being one of the lesser paid players to a high-earner. With a number of top European clubs said to be chasing his signature, we need to act quickly and with only two years left on his contract, the situation is becoming increasingly precarious by the minute. This is where the contract talk kicks in good and proper and as you can see, it is not just Muslera who could be negotiating. However, best of luck to Nando tomorrow and let’s hope the president inks that quill of his and gets a few new deals rolling. Forza Lazio!

I’m sorry. The image I will always have of him is from that first Milan game when he looked like a frightened little bunny. That, coupled with the fact that Muslera sort of sounds like the genus for weasels (Mustela), has turned him into a little woodland creature in my mind.

    He just seems so non-butch…

I hope Lazio players copy paste this attitude:

“In an interview with Viola Channel, Fiorentina and Montenegro attacking midfielder Stefan Jovetic (19) said : “I read in the papers that clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid are interested in me, but I want to continue playing for Fiorentina for many years. I have a contract until June 2013, we’ll see what happens after that date. …. I am happy in Florence and Fiorentina fans always show their support towards me. I promise them that I will play even better and I want to keep improving, I am still young. …. Now I am focused on our next game on Saturday against Juventus. It will be a difficult match, but we can beat them”.

I watched the second half last night,Argentina didn`t have a shot on goal beside the goal, and Nando wasn`t guilty for the goal,it was too close. Sorry for my English :)

Such a funny bunch of ignorants, calling us nazio, fascist and other stuff.

“In 1927 Lazio was the only major Roman club which resisted the Fascist regime’s attempts to merge all the city’s teams into what would become A.S. Roma the same year.”

i have enormous respect for muslera, mostly due to the fact that he overcame huge criticism in an extremely intimidating environment to become one of the best keepers in serie a last year. ive never seen a transformation like it. FORZA LAZIO FORZA MUSLERA!!
