Almost There
By: cathal | June 15th, 2009Everywhere you look now there is a report saying Ballardini has signed and perhaps the lack of updates on our official website is the only obstacle that is preventing it becoming official. Nevertheless, it looks a done deal but we will have to wait at least another day to know for sure if we have got our man…or machine.

I think he is signed and I believe he has been on the way for quite a while now. Evidence of the deal can be found in the speculation that Davide has been spotted around Rome today (if anyone finds confirmation of this, please post in comments box). If that is the case, I think there can be no doubt about it but Lotito wants to surprise us; he constantly raises our hopes but I think on this occasion the media have burst his bubble. So, with the risk of sounding a little premature, welcome Mr. Davide Ballarini

I’ll be back with the Player of the Season results later today. Forza Lazio!

Ballardini has signed a 2 year contract with us. I am excited, as I think he is a coach with a lot of potential. Hope Lotito secures Matuzalem also. I have 3 more recommendations of players we should sign who I’ve barely ever heard of before. Today I was watching the Bundesliga review, and the player who caught my eye was Grafite, for Wolfsburg, with this goal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pO9_YRwYEQc He has scored 28 goals this season in 25 appearances. Also, today I was watching Brazil- Egypt in the Confederations cup. This guy was absolutely brilliant, scoring a great goal. He would probably be available for next to nothing, as Middlesbrough signed him in 2007 for £650,000. He has played only 21 games since then. My final recommendation is Mohamed Zidan who also played today. He scored 2 brilliant goals and looked lively throughout, causing many problems to the Brazilian defense, which I should note, was shit. He plays for Borussia Dortmund, and has had a decent season. I also must say: Brazil are an absolutely terrible team after watching the game today. FORZA LAZIO E FORZA AZZURI!!!!!

It is final. He signed 2 year deal for wage of 750k for year.
I’m glad that he joined us, because he is good coach and players could learn a lot from him.
As of Stef comment, boy o boy it would be great if we could sign any of them. There is no chance that we could afford Grafite, specially now when whole Europe is after him.Boro doesn’t wish to sell their Egyptian star because they want to build young and strong team who could bring them Premiership football next season. Our only hope remains Zidan which we could afford but does he fits in Lottito’s puzzle???Posted from

Should point out that Ledesma will also be leaving.
Nobody should ever sign players based on their performance in an International tournament but Zidan has been a good player for a long time. He’s just missing that “e”

We should see if we can sell rocchi and pandev and get rossi and aquafresca. I think a front line of rossi, aquafresca and zarate would be good enough to get us back in the champions league.

rossi would be imense but highly doubt we could get him. he has the ability and potential to play at the biggest teams in europe. he has experience with champions league football after last season but villareal are only in the europa cup this season so he wouldnt be moving down as wolfsburg players would be
