Angling Angeleri
By: cathal | February 4th, 2009Lazio didn’t make any last ditch moves prior to the close of the transfer window but there was one “signing” (of sorts) made.
It is believed Marcos Angeleri will join up with the squad in Rome this coming summer. I don’t know much about the guy having only seen him play on a few occasions but from what I’ve read he can play either right back or centre back. Considering we have Lichtsteiner and De Silvestri covering the right back position, I would expect we are looking at a right centre back here, perhaps filling Siviglia’s boots as of next season. He is relatively young at 25 years of age and is actually a current squad member in Argentina’s international side. I have no doubts about the quality of player we are looking at here; I reckon this would be an excellent signing. However, as ever, there is one problem.
The issue I have about this transfer at the minute is the fact that nothing is official. As far as I can see, the media have been talking this up heavily and after that Cellerino deal fell through, I would be cautious of celebrating this one just yet. Nevertheless, there are reports that he will sign in the comings days so until then, we will just have to wait. Yet again…

seems Angeleri will be in Roma this month to sign a deal but they’ve warned Lotito they’ll also talk to Inter if we dont reach an agreement quickly
also, this LCB and RCB thing sounds ridiculous. Play the best combination of the 2 best CBs that work well together, irrespective of what foot they use.

I’m pretty sure Angeleri has an Italian passport. Like Chris said, Inter are chasing him too and that’s another reason why we should hold the excitement.
Delighted Juventus won against Napoli. Numerous reasons why which I will explain in tomorrow’s post.
Will discuss Fabio tomorrow too.

We should be focused on a central mid and defense as priority. Lichsteiner and DeSilvestri are already amazing players at right back.
FORZA LAZIO!
