El-is-who?

By: cathal | June 21st, 2009

You hear numerous transfer rumours each and every day and as you allow them to accumulate, out of nowhere a deal is seemingly done and you are left wondering how it passed you by. The truth is, I don’t think anyone saw Eliseu coming but apparently the formalities are to be completed tomorrow and we will have a new, pacy winger on our books at a bargain price of 600,000 euro. It all sounds too good to be true which begs the question; is he any good?

It is difficult to say if he will live up to the billing. Clearly, not much will be expected of him at such a small price. Nevertheless, we are short of a top winger and if he is to be shot straight into the first team, I would be concerned. He has one good season in La Liga with Malaga and has useful attributes but in my opinion, that is not a reasonable indication as to whether he is Lazio standard or not. Nevertheless, the boy has skills and I’m hoping they will develop as his career progresses.

It’s not the best quality video you will ever come across but if you want a glimpse of what the boy can do, watch the clip below. I’ll be back tomorrow when this deal should be confirmed. Forza Lazio!

If you sign Nedved, it will be quite a coup. I can’t believe that Juve would let him go. The guy has plenty of football in him and would be great to watch play for Lazio again!

I hope that Konami will improve Eliseus’ characteristics for next edition of Pro Evolution Soccer :) I mean, he is not so special in PES 2009 ;)

Goal says that we are in advanced stages with Moretti – That a way Lotito for denying interest, that way we didn’t have someone else come in to and raise the price

Bad news all round today… First of all Eliseu did not sign with Lazio today after claims that Lazio have lowered his wage demands that was agreed upon when both parties were in negotiations. This transfer is now at a stand still and my gut feeling tells me that he could be bought by someone else that’s paying close attention this situation.

Lazio have lost out on the opportunity to sign Aquafresca. He himself has stated on several occasions that he was interested and flattered that a team like Lazio wanted him but Lotito took his sweat ass time getting this transfer arranged and now Juve look to be signing him on a co-owership deal with Genoa. From what I’ve heard, Juve want him if Trezuget leaves but if Trezagol stays, they will loan him to Atalanta for a year or so.

It doesn’t stop there people… Lazio were also interested in Brazilian ace Ederson. Ederson would of been the perfect replacement for Ladesma – or better still, I don’t think anyone would of noticed Ladesma’s absence should we of signed this guy. Apparently he was offered to Lotito for 15 mil but Lotito told them to wait until he sold Pandev as he wanted to use the money from the sale of Pandev to finance this deal but once again he’s too late. Looks like Inter will have him on their books by week end.

Now for some positive news (if you really wanna call it that)… remember that filthy Lazio Puma jersey that was supposedly our next seasons jersey?? We it still is – sort of. The players will be wearing another jersey (still unknown at this stage) until Jan 2010 when they will switch over to this jersey as it was designed to celebrate Lazio’s 110 year anniversary. A what a way to celebrate, with an unforgettable jersey – literally.

Also, I have been following the Lazio to Nedved story and it now seems that a 2 year contract (650,000 Euro per season) deal has been offered to Nedved with an agreement that after those 2 years that he is offered an executive position within the club. This sounds good if it’s true and according to reports Nedved will give his final yay or neigh by the end of the month but as usual Lotito denies any contact with Pavel has been made. Go figure!

    Forza Lazio!

I wish they would look at Gomis, with his teams overall down year I think we could get him at a bargain price.
