For Every Plus There’s A Minus
By: cathal | March 28th, 2009It may be a case of dark days in Rome right now but perhaps we are beginning to see a chink of light in our recent misfortune. Pandev has been speaking about his contract and hinting that he is close to an agreement with the club on a new four-year deal. This may just be the boost Lazio need right now.

Goran may be having a miserable season by his own high standards but you can’t fault his spirit and ability for chipping in with vital goals. As I have previously stated, my fear with the Macedonian is that he may have peaked too soon and we could be missing out on the prime time to sell him. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad that he looks set to stay, delighted in fact but who can tell what the future holds and we as fans can only hope he improves further and goes on to become a legend of our colours.
On the contrary, Juan-Pablo Carrizo may go down in history for all the wrong reasons. Recently, he has expressed a desire to leave the club and now he is blaming the Italian mentality for his poor form this season. I welcomed this guy with open arms when he came here but I can’t embrace such an egotistical attitude. His excuse is almost laughable; would Buffon be a bad goalkeeper if he was in England? Would Casillas be disastrous in Brazil? I understand that South American goalkeepers need time to adjust to the pace of Calcio and perhaps even the European lifestyle but I think JP has gone too far with these comments. One can draw direct comparisons between the Argentine and Muslera. Last season Fernando was atrocious, everyone remembers that Milan game but credit to the guy, he persisted, worked hard and showed the kind of spirit us fans demand of our players. Thus far, Carrizo hasn’t done the same. We have witnessed it with many other stoppers as well; Julio Cesar flattered to deceive at first and there’s also that Brazilian fella who plays for that team whose name we won’t mention. It’s a shame because I had hoped an international goalkeeper could be the ultimate coup. Unfortunately that doesn’t appear to be the case. I can’t help but think a summer parting would be best for both parties but Lotito doesn’t agree with me. Typical.

Thanks for all the contributions you have made during these turbulent times. I will do my utmost to lighten the mood come what may. For me at least and I’m sure the majority of you feel the same, now more than ever we stand united as fans. Your comments speak volumes. Forza Lazio!

i personally would love to see zarate here next season. i think he has been one of our stars of the season and wouldnt like to see him leave. we should stop wasting money on stupid signings like DUBARIER and KASAMI. they havent even made one appearance yet. they should have saved the money spent on them and used it to entice a new signing with big wages. we really need to kick #13, the big fag siviglia, out of rome (or preferably over to roma!!!) and sign a decent centre back who can actually defend(as aldo said “CHIELLINI-LIKE”) also, a new winger should be bought (AFELLAY) and an attacking mid/striker (CRESPO or KERLON). a new ARAB owner wouldnt be bad either…….

i dont think that carrizo and muslera are same even though this is first season for JP he is under pressure so maybe that’s why he is giving all those comments

Let him fly away. We don’t need that kind of players or the spirit of Lazio will be serious destroyed.

Hey guys,
I’m trying to buy tickets to Lazio-Roma. I went to Lazio’s website and they said tickets would go on sale today, but can you not buy them online? I checked Listticket, but it still has no details on buying them online. (or any other way, for that matter) Suggestions?

Someone pointed out I´m an idiot and they go on sale today, not the other day. Just bought my tickets, I´m cheap so I´ll be sitting in the Lazio curva. Better than sitting with the Riomanistas. Senza maglia Nedved, of course.

I think it is time we dispense with quite a few within the squad, Manfredini, Dabo, Brocchi, Mauri, Siviglia to name a few.
I also believe that the much spoken about ‘trident’ has not worked and believe Rossi is doing the team no favours by attempting to play all three together when it is clear it has not worked.
Given that there are a few disgruntled members within some of the larger playing squads in Serie A I’m sure players like Jimenez, Crespo, Maxwell and Cruz from Inter and Iaquinta from Juventus are the sort of players we should be looking to add to the squad for next season.
