Just A Little Something I Found
By: cathal | August 16th, 2009This time next week, the first round of Serie A matches will have been played and after all the usual shocks and standard procedures, everyone will have to gather themselves together for a long, arduous season. Looking back, our pre-season has been nothing short of shambolic and that stretches from the mercato to our organisation of the summer camp, friendlies and the trip to Beijing. All in all, it has been a successful series of months on the pitch but I already feel slightly drained as the Serie A season approaches. In a bid to deal with minor levels of fatigue, I decided to look back on last season’s friendlies and I found one item in particular which reminds me instantly of why I am even here. I’m not sure if I’ve ever posted this on the blog, but after our friendly with Liverpool last summer, I went in search of some feedback on our fans as we were welcomed by a lovely banner reminding us (or rather, Rioma) of 1984. I found one particular piece in a forum which said enough and yet said it all. I tried today to find the exact forum I took this from to see if I could put a name to the writing but all I can tell you is that this short statement was posted on a forum for Koppites shortly after our encounter.
I’ll leave it in it’s true form, exactly as it was written and intended:
“Hi all i was at the Main Stand row 4, just by the Lazio FANS……… I’m not being funny but they were the best fans I’ve ever seen, they were so amusing shirts off dancing and singing chanting Liverpool Liverpool. Then some young kids took their shirts off they must have been 7-9 years old in the main stand and were waving it in the air and the Lazio fans started to clap…. wicked.
The best bit. Their was a stocky built Lazio fan who took his football shirt off and called over a Steward and asked her to give that shirt to a Fan just below me in a wheel chair. Fantastic. i had to get up off my chair and clap the Lazio fans……. they were magic. YNWA.”

Liverpool is the best British team around. Great fans, great stadium, great tradition and great players. I hope they win the PL this year.

There is no doubt about that in this year PL will be won by one and only Liverpool , they are the overall champions compared to the whole league .No one is there to beat them.
