News and clips
By: salvatore | March 26th, 2008
I managed to stumble onto a clip from the 2005-2006 primavera season highlighting the progress of four players. Among them is Lorenzo De Silvestri, who as we know, has pretty much taken over that right-back position on the first team. Hopefully, the others mentioned in the clip can follow his lead up to the senior team.
The one that caught my eye, and who I’d already read about, is midfielder Daniele Greco. As reported, he looks intelligent on the ball, and hard working. So why has he been loaned out to a C1 team? Who knows?
Check it out (if you can handle the narrator’s monotone):
Meanwhile, Juan Pablo Carrizo continues to piss all over the Argentine league. He picked up his
sixth consecutive clean sheet in River Plate’s 2-0 victory over Velez, and for the sixth consecutive week, the hyperbolic Argentinian media can’t get enough of him. Seriously, if they praised this guy anymore they’d have to start building temples in his honor. One newspaper reportedly summed up the game by writing, “Carrizo can do it all.”
That’s great and all, but I kind of hope he doesn’t have to.
To that end, it looks like Radu won’t be the only one getting Riscatto’ed. Word is that Rolando Bianchi will also have his loan deal made permanent, which will, believe it or not, cost us about 12 million Euros (mind boggling). Yes, the move will add yet another young player to our lineup. But 12 million? Can’t we we have Russotto for a whole lot less?

In any case, it’s good news, and it points to something of a forward thinking plan.
In honor of that, here’s a new video I found celebrating the 108 years of Lazialita. Enjoy:

what a big week for Lazio
This is a massive game against Inter …. First of all, they are playing at home, and you always want to win home games … second, they play inter, last yrs champs, and everyone always wants to knock off the champs … thirdly, they want to win as many games as they can .. and hopefully make the UEFA Cup
On the other hand, we have a replay of 2002 … and lazio could win, and make the gap between inter and roma just 1 point (that’s if roma win) …
This would surely put roma in the hot seat to win the title, as inter still have so many hard games left.
Do lazio think about them selves … or would they rather see roma come second this yr??? i mean, could they ever swallow it, knowing they put the title on a plate for roma???
_______
Sorry for the double post … but there were so many errors in that one … so I edited this one lol … you can delete the first one. Thanks

I deleted that double post of yours ToniGol, and yeah you’re right, it’s a strange game against Inter. It definitely reminds me of 2002 too, but do we really want to help Rioma? I know there’s a lot of divisive opinion on this in the Lazio fan camp, but what can we do, lose a game on purpose? Screw that.
Discounting the 10 men loss to Fiorentina, we’re in our best form of the season, and Inter’s in their worst…so for sure, we have a shot.
I’ll be writing a preview for the game, either tomorrow or the day after.

Players we must sign at the end of the season:
Radu – Need I say more?
Carrizo – We absolutely need a new GK
A new centerback – Siviglia is getting oldWe must not lose Behrami and Pandev too, these are the players we will build our future upon along with several others like De Silvestri, Radu and Ledesma.
Rozhenal will most probably return and Bianchi is just not deserved, he has not done enough to warrant that 12m euros price tag. He needs to up his performance if he is to convince me that he should join us permanently.
We will be going to Inter to win and not to draw or purposely lose.

Hey Darran,
I think Radu and Carrizo are more or less official for next season, so nothing to worry about there. We do need a centerback to replace Siviglia…it could be Barzagli (he’s a lazio fan apparently), but I don’t know if that will happen.
I wouldn’t count on Rozehnal being back…but Lotito came out today to say that he won’t sell Pandev and Behrami.
