Here’s what’s been going on in LazioLand the last few days following the unexpected 2-0 win against Genoa:

For the first time in a long time, Lazio’s central defense didn’t look shaky on Sunday, and a few sources have commented on the strong performance of David Rozehnal. Overall it was his best outing in the Biancoceleste shirt, and it looks now like he might have played his way into the team’s plans next year. The Czech international had a hard time finding space at first, but he seems to be getting more consideration the last little while, and it’s possible he will be bought outright from Newcastle in the summer. Apparently, he’ll cost 6 million Euros, which would be a bargain if he can settle and become the strong center back we need.

Here are some highlights from Sunday’s game:

Belleri and Inzaghi (the shitty one) are on their way back to Lazio next season, while Behrami may end up avoiding a move to Spain or England by staying in Italy. The only problem for Lazio fans? It will be with the Viola, who are one win away from being in the Champions League next season, and are planning to bolster their roster. Apparently, Valon, who can play as a fullback of midfielder, is highly regarded by Fiorentina, and a possible player exchange is being discussed.

Meanwhile, a report came out today claiming that Goran Pandev was getting ready to sign an extension that would tie him to the club until 2015. Reportedly the offer on the table is close to a million and a half Euros a year, which is only fair. I mean as of right now Baronio makes more money than Goran. Seriously. Baronio. Unbelievable.

This would make him the second key component of the team to lock in for the long haul, following the long-term deal signed by Tommaso Balboa a few months back. Unsurprisingly then, the same day we get the Pandev news comes a rumor that Monaco are still trying to pry Tommasino to the principality.

It makes you wonder why the fans don’t protest…oh. Right. Apparently there are two factions at work now within the Lazio fan base trying to sabotage the last home game of the season. One side believes a silent protest should be staged, while another wants no one to show up at all. Is it just the pitiful season that’s driven fans to this point? The logical hatred of Lotito and his arrogant stupidity? Or could it be because of the fact that we’re still being linked to goalkeepers, even after being promised the long-awaited arrival of Carrizo? Ah, who knows?

We’re a mess, but hey, at least we’re not boring.

Forza

Oh, and Stephen Makinwa is going to be operated on next week end. Here’s hoping the doctors can do something to make him less, well, shite.

Ah, the Makinwa to Lazio deal…another showing of the moronic ways of Claudio Lotito.

Oh no, not Makinwa again! I’m sick and tired to watch him suffering on the pitch… No thanks! Transfer him to England now!
