Onwards And (Hopefully) Upwards
By: cathal | January 26th, 2009So we have Samp midweek and after yesterday’s debacle, it could be the perfect game for us. However, I can’t help but feel that we must revert back to a team and a spirit similar to the one we saw when we played them in September. On that day, the combination of Zarate and Pandev put them to bed with ease. I decided to trapse through some videos to perk me up and remind me of the good times and I came across one in particular which I found interesting. Just take a look at the happiness of the side, the passion, the desire and all the qualities that were noticably absent yesterday and perhaps you will come to realise, like me, that we can pull off something special this season. People have talked about needing 11 Fabio Firmani’s on the pitch. Personally, I feel Delio should delve into his video collection and pull out the “September 2008″ archive. He could learn a trick or two and the squad may just come alive again.

Speaking of Fabio Firmani, does anyone know what was said that got him sent off?? No doubt he has the desired passion for Lazio as he is a Laziale (just like De Silvestri) and these are the guys I’d prefer to see more of rather then some of our players who are more interested in collecting their pay check(Ladesma).

Ledesma is vital to our side….
As for what he said, he launched abusive words at Daniele Conti (son of Roma legend Bruno) after an incident involving Pandev. Shame that the only man who reacted was on the bench. Exact words?? not sure
good to see that other Lazio fans exist in Australia btw

Chris, I agree that Ladesma is vital to our side – I never said that he wasn’t however I don’t think that he has the loyalty or passion towards Lazio as a player that respects his club should. He is obviously in it for the Fame and Fortune and will leave at the drop of a hat should a better offer be put on the table. Sad I know but this is the reality with Ladesma.
Well that makes sense then, when I was watching the game live feed cut out so I missed it completely. Respect to Firmani!!!
I thought I was the only Lazio supporter in the whole of Australia??!! LOL. Just kidding however I have only met 4-5 in my lifetime… In Australia that is. I prefer it that way, ever guy and his dog supports the big 3 and the other ones are just plain Frocio’s who support the Gay Pride side of Rome.
Forza Lazio!

Fair enough, def agree about Ledesma
Hope some of these youngsters like Ettore, Tuia and Faraoni get blooded into little Firmani’s. Should get Fabio working with the primavera side part time.
there wouldn’t be many of us in Aus..probably those of us who come from roma and lazio and a few others

we have to win this match, we have tough fixtures coming up and it would be best to go into them with high confidence and also its important we bounce back from our loss not like in december when we struggled to pick up points. also if a lot of results turn out a certain way we could move up to joint 5th i think and it would be good to start moving up in the table…FORZA LAZIO
