Pen to Paper
By: cathal | December 18th, 2008In what could well be a busy week of negotiations for Lotito, it seems the Zarate Kid is set to be the the latest in a string of Lazio players to sign a contract. It is believed that an agreement has been reached with Al Sadd and the boy wonder should transfer over to us permanently in the very near future. I’m sure you’ll agree that this is excellent news and now we should focus on warding off those vultures in Madrid.
On the mercato rumours, two new names have emerged today, both of whom are defenders. The first man needs no introduction; Roberto Ayala. Roberto’s agent has offered Lazio his services and should Lotito warm to a deal then we could well see the Argentine back in Italy again.
The other individual is Miranda. If you can overlook the fact he has a name more suited to a female, you will find that he is quite a talented Brazilian who is on the verge of breaking into his own national side. He could be on the expensive side and he possibly has bigger ambitions than Lazio but let’s wait and see what happens.
Mauri’s agent got his calculator out today and worked out that there is 50% chance that his client may leave Lazio in the January transfer window. How you work out the probability of a football transfer taking place I do not know but it seems this agent is a clever clogs and has cracked a code or two. Stefano was supposed to have signed a contract a while ago or at least be close to agreeing terms. Now it seems half likely that he will go. Considering he tends to give schizophrenic performances for us anyway, I would try and offload the lesser half of him and perhaps keep his better half for a rainy day.
Rocchi has been partaking in his daily denials again. This time he is insisting that there is no fighting within the dressing room. Captain’s duty I suppose but was he ever taught by an elder that you should never trust anyone who starts or finishes a sentence with the words, “to be honest”? As far as I am concerned, the more we deny the in-fighting, the more it looks like we actually do have dressing room bust ups. Sometimes it’s best to keep quiet about these things and let it all blow over but Tommaso has found it difficult to be anything but vociferous this season. And they say the best leaders are the quiet ones…
That’s all the gossip to be found today. Preview tomorrow.

Rocchi’s time at lazio will come to an end the day he decides to retire
really he’s still struggling to hit form after his injury
hopefully after the winter break we see the old rocchi once again.
Will the real Tommaso please stand up????
