Now before I get started on Siviglia’s player profile, for those of you who know me, know that I can’t stand the guy so trying to find positive things to write about him is going to be very difficult for me. I am going to do my best to be as unbiased as possible which could mean that I’ll have to keep this as factual as possible. For those of you who are wondering, why does Franco hate a Lazio player? Well lets just say that anyone who plays for the dark side of Rome loses respect from me, that and the fact that he is completely useless and has costed Lazio several games in the past. Enough of that and on to the post…..
Siviglia began his career in 1989, with local side Audax Ravagnese in Serie D. Siviglia then spent three seasons at Parma but he did not make any senior appearances with the gialloblu. He moved on to Nocerina, a club from the Campania region, close to Naples, who were at the time playing in lower divisions. After three seasons and almost 100 appearances with Nocerina, Siviglia transferred to Hellas Verona where he played in mainly Serie B, but also finally made his debut in Serie A.
Following a short stint with Rioma, Siviglia then spent three seasons in Bergamo with Atalanta, before rejoining Parma in 2002. Parma, however, sent him on loan for three years, first back to Atalanta, then to Lecce and Lazio.

In August 2005, Lazio opted to sign Siviglia permanently after his loan spell and he became a starting defensive option for the biancocelesti. During his first season, Siviglia played in three UEFA Cup matches for Lazio. In addition to this, he has also played UEFA Champions League.
During much of his time in Rome, Siviglia has been a first choice defensive option under former coach Delio Rossi and has also scored goals against the likes of Juventus and Fiorentina.
As one of the most experienced players in the squad, Siviglia has deputized as captain on many occasions and before the start of the 2008-09 season, was selected as vice vice-captain (if that makes sense?) behind Tommaso Rocchi and Cristian Ledesma.
Here is a video of probably the best thing Sebastiano has ever done in a Lazio shirt. Be sure you watch it until the very end otherwise you may miss it altogether….
For those of you who didn’t get that, he just basically called “il capitano” of Rioma a “cornutto” – a very offensive word in the Italian language.
With the 36 year old looking at remaining at Lazio for yet another season one can only think (and pray and hope) that his days are numbered and that he’ll either get sold or for God’s sake just resign!! I think I will leave this post at that and as always;
Forza Lazio, Forza Siviglia! (That killed me!)

I take it you also dont have any respect for Mihajlovic?? or Eriksson?? They both did time at Trigoria (and contributed a lot more than Sebastiano did thats for sure), not to mention our legend Peruzzi.
Anyway, I’m a fan of Siviglia. He’s an intelligent defender, if he had pace, he’d be a real gun. His experience makes up for his crap physical side though. His days are numbered but he’s done plenty for us.
btw loving these pics that follow all the profiles. Keep it up.

Eriksson? He built a great team but will never be a hero of mine. The fact is, he could do nothing with us, despite the fact the bookmakers and many soccer fans thought we were shoe-ins for the Champions League on more than one occasion. He then walked out when the going got tough. Also, he was at Rioma once.
Peruzzi was a Riomanista with a career that was hardly scandal-free. How he has come to be so loved is beyond me.
Mihajlovic is the least at fault because he probably never cared too much for the rivalry until he got to Lazio. I have the most sympathy for him.
While these guys are all legends of the Lazio shirt, the fact they were at Rioma tarnishes their reputations. I’m sorry, but is does. I had this conversation with someone the other day and the truth is, you won’t find a Lazio “legend” who hasn’t let down the club in some way. So, who you choose to hate and love is up to yourself and that’s how it should be.

Gentlemen,
Any chance we can lose the pics of the busty women – it is offensive to my sensibilities and to be honest will put me off checking for Lazio news here in the future. It’s unecessary.
Omar.

Omar,
I appreciate your concerns and I would like to apologise on behalf of myself and Franco if we caused you any offence. I would like to think that it goes without saying that this was not our intentions.
However, connotations between soccer and women are part of a more general, modern attitude to the game. The decision to include such images was not something myself and Franco discussed nor was it something that we planned; quite simply, it gained what was initially a positive reaction and we reacted to it in a manner that we now realise was overstepping the mark.
I personally don’t feel that such images are anything more extreme than what you would find on the sports pages of a tabloid newspaper but in the interest of being tasteful, tactile and inoffensive, this is something we will address in the future.
Thank you,
Cathal.Posted from

Siviglia was a good servant, nothing more, nothing less, players up to a certain point cannot decide how good they are otherwise I would have decided a long time ago to be as good as Baggio and Ronaldo (I hate having to keep saying this, but the REAL RONALDO) combined. It is down to the club to purchase players capable of playing at the required level and Siviglia, once he donned our shirt never let us down deliberately.
Also, merely having played for Roma really shouldn’t mean we can’t embrace a player as long as he’s not a symbol of theirs. For example Peruzzi, yes he represented Roma, but only for a total of 26 games over 4 years, the last of which was in 1991!! He then played 226 games for us, and let us not forget (and remember the Lazio fans are very patriotic) he (alongside Oddo) won the fucking World Cup representing OUR colours. That goes down in the history books forever. And he was a DON in goal for us, a real champion for just under a decade.
Lastly, regarding Omar’s comment, I must say I personally totally disagree with him HOWEVER, on a merely pragmatic level, we should keep our readership as wide as possible and this means women and the more pious amongst us. May I suggest a tasteful photograph of the player in question’s significant other and if one can’t be found then forget it.
P.S. Also, said pictures can be found whenever we want on the net anyway AND more importantly there are many countries that will ban this blog completely if they found such pictures (Saudi to take one example).
Ciao belli, Inter merda, forza LAZIO!!!!!

@Cristino, I understand your point but I will have to agree on Cathal’s response. In specifics, Sven was way over rated in my eyes and should of done much much better with the squad that he had at that time as well as with the England squad he had too. When he coached an everage team (Mexico) he chocked, which says it all. Mihijavic was a great player, that I can admit, but as far as loyality was concerned, he was a banana. Same goes for Peruzzi who no doubt will be forever remembered for all his brilliant games with Lazio but yet again he is another one of those players who chased money & prestige over loyality – not only with us but when he moved to Inter from Juve also. Liverani is worse still… we could continue this all day but I think we will stop here as I believe you get the drift of where I am going with this??!
@Cathal / Robert, I do believe the lovely lady in the picture is indeed Keeley Hazell. As far as Galles is concered, Arsenal is asking in the region of 7 million for his transfer – alot more than what Lotito is prepared to pay. Lugano, of course, is the preferred option for Lazio as he is currently out of contract and would come accross on a free but there is still issues with his wages as I believe he is asking for a 2 year deal worth 2 million per season – once again more than what Lotito is prepared to offer. Another name has just entered the ring, Brazilian ace, Kléberson…. Stay tunned to see if this is more than just a rumor.
@Omar, Following on from Cathal’s reponse, we do apologise if we offended you as that was obviously not our intension. We are just having a bit of pre-season fun. It started off as a one off thing and by popular demand, it has continued on. With all due respect, as Cathal has stated, the pics are nothing more than what you would see in any sporting magazine / newspaper. I will however take note of the pics we post in future and ensure that it is appropriate but I do honestly feel that there is nothing bad about the picture shown as she is completely covered.
Does anyone else feel the same as Omar about the pics of women shown on the blog??

@ Pepe: the significant others could involve someone like Alessia Marcuzzi, who doesn’t keep much of her clothes on.
It would be nice to find a compromise if possible. Lazio-related women who are not scantily-clad may suffice. Much like the jersey models.

That’s fair enough Cath, although there is only so many pics before the well runs dry!

What I meant with the Alessia comment is try and keep it more respectable; I assume it is the flesh more than anything else that could be deemed offensive; and you would be suprised how many poeple that could apply to.
There is a thin line with images like this and we most definitely crossed it, with hindsight.

We play with Trabzonspor(Turkey), Žilina(Slovakia), Elfsborg(Sweden),Bnei Jehuda(Israel) or Baku(Azerbeijan). We shouldn`t be afraid of any of them, but the first two are surely not a piece of cake.
