It was announced today that Lazio have secured a one game sponsorship deal with all parties involved with the videogame, PES2009. The contract will see the Biancocelesti wear the famous brand on their jerseys for next weekend’s game against Inter.

I am sure you are all intrigued to know what our kit will look like with a sponsor on it but unfortunately this seems to be a well guarded secret. It is believed some form of unveiling will take place on the eve prior to kick off. It will be interesting to see if this is to become the first of a series of one game deals or just a stopgap until we find a decent sponsor that pays us nicely. Anyway, it is good to know that Lazio has been chosen as the first destination to sponsor the game mentioned and hopefully we will put on a display worthy of representing soccer.

Talking about representations, I almost died with the realism of Cribari and almost vomitted upon seeing Foggia’s face in this game. Watch the video below and you will understand.

As an aside, I hope they don’t give our players free promotional copies of the game. I would rather they focused on the real life action than that of a virtual world. Nevertheless, if any repetitive strain injuries are reported in training this week, I will personally be holding Konami responsible.

It is not yet known if replica jerseys will be made to celebrate the occasion.

  I’m sorry but FIFA is better Graphically and otherwise, in every way, shape and form.

  Oh, and the guy singing the song in the video is from Napoli, you can tell by his accent =P

  The guy singing in the video is Checco Zalone aka Luca Medici. The song is called “Siamo una squadra fortissimi” and it was for the Azzurri in 2006.
