Rossi Poll Results & New Poll
By: cathal | February 23rd, 2009Thanks for your participation in this week’s poll. It was higher than I expected and I urge you to keep it up. High participation is needed to make the poll’s worthwhile. The results on last week’s poll yielded interesting results. I asked a simple question; if you had the power, would you sack Delio Rossi. The results were as follows:
Yes 59%
No 41%
To be honest, I expected a higher turnout in the “Yes” camp. Although I voted “No”, I felt there would have being an overwhelming majority opposing me. Clearly there are some folk out there who are unsure about Delio and rightly so. Personally, I feel he has a difficult task and for that reason, I do believe it is impossible to judge properly the work he is doing. Nevertheless, we have to take a side in the current situation and we have to consider a future without him. Thanks again for voicing your opinions and the results certainly surprised me.
On to this week’s poll. Today I’m asking you to vote on who you feel is the greatest icon in recent Lazio history. I have compiled a list of twenty candidates for you to choose from so I need a high level of participation. The candidates I have selected are the ones I believe will generate the most votes. They are not a reflection on who I think are our best representatives and I could well of forgotten about a whole host of people. Thus there is a box for other selections. Please tick it and say who you are referring to on the blog if you feel there is someone better than the options I have chosen. The poll will run for a week and you can vote here. Forza Lazio!

You guys need to sack Rossi if you finish outside 10. I am not saying this because Rossi is a bad coach but if the players lose confidence in their coach, no matter what the coach does it won’t have an effect on the team. This is precisely why even very good coaches need to get sacked.

Fair point Ben. Fair point. But WHEN do we sack him. At the end of the season? Maybe. But certainly not now!
The highest achieved accolade and greatest period of success for Lazio in their history was undoubtedly the 1998-2000 period – the Eriksson years.

To be fair to the 1999-2000 squad Ericksson literally inherited that squad. If it wasn’t for Cragnotti’s Cirio Food money the likes of Veron, Stam, Salas, Almeydia, etc. etc. wouldn’t be there.
