Some Snippets
By: cathal | March 17th, 2009Here are a few bits and pieces I have gathered together.

Lotito has said that the atmosphere and the increased pressure that surrounds the club was probably a factor in our loss to Chievo. He also hinted that the Cribari situation can be resolved and that the two men may sit down and have a conversation. However, that little talk may just be an issuing of a fine. I don’t believe Emilson is the kind of person to go back on his word but here’s hoping he makes his viewpoint known. Remember, you can still vote on the issue here.
The potential departure of Cribs may be a factor in the speculation surrounding Lazio and Diego Lugano of Fenerbahce. I’m not the world’s biggest fan of the tall centre-back but his acquisition could be essential. You can see what he’s capable of in this video.
Bruno Giordano, a legend of our club has expressed his desire to one day take over the Biancocelesti. Maybe he’s getting his spoke in just in case Rossi gets his marching orders in the near future.
Dabo should be back and fit to play in time for Siena in a couple of weeks. I wonder what Delio will do when Ousmane is available for selection again because I reckon Brocchi has done more than enough to cement his place in the squad and with both men getting older and needing pitch time, this situation will have to be managed carefully.

That’s all for now, a short post I know but keep the comments coming in.

I dont want to see cribari leaving. He is a well capable centre back. The problem in our defense, i believe, is a certain #13 going by the name of Siviglia. He has never impressed me and Rossi really must start Rozenhal instead of him. And Aldo, i apologize, the referee was an asshole.

Hey guys. As you probably know, I’m the Julian who runs the Italy WorldCupBlog (click my name for a link), and I was hoping to get some help from you guys for an upcoming series of posts. I’m asking each writer for a serie A club to email me, if you’d like to, and name 2 or 3 players who you believe should get called up to the Azzurri. Not players that are already a fixture, but maybe young guys who haven’t gotten a call up yet, or older overlooked players who deserve one. If you could email me, that’d be awesome. Much thanks.

Julian, From Lazio I would say the following 4 players (in order) deserve a call up to the Azzurri… 1. Pasquale Foggia 2. Tommaso Rocchi 3. Christian Ladesma and 4. Lorenzo De Silvestri

The only Lazio player deserving a nazionale call-up is Pasquale Foggia.
As an Italian, I would hope that Ledesma will never play for Italy.
Its a shame we don’t have more Italians in the team to be honest. More Romans would be even better.

Luis Jimenez says ‘I feel like a ghost’ (channel4 news)
Omar says: ‘I told you so suckerface’

As a player, I like Jimenez but boy oh boy is he a jerk.
Yeah, more Italians are necessary at Lazio and I hope Lotito homes in on that during the summer mercato.
If Carrizo departs, there are a good half dozen of cheaper and better alternatives to replace him in my opinion. Moreover, they are Italian.
I have a feeling Ledesma will play for Italy but I expect it will be a while down the road. If anything, I just hope we don’t have that attention Amauri got/gets.

Hey Cath, Maybe that can be the next weeks poll question “who from Lazio is worthy of an Azzurri call up”… Would make a very interesting poll, what do you think??!

What does everyone else think?
Do we actually have enough candidates is the question. I can only think of three, maybe four realistic candidates but yes, I’ll make that the poll, so long as it doesn’t conflict with Julian’s plans.
