Successful businesses need ruthless running; tough decisions and the odd risk. Now, someone decided Muta was to have no part in the team. This may be foolish in the long run or it could be a wise gamble but Brocchi was brought in over the summer and Dabo came in January so I guess Massimo’s days were always going to be numbered. It’s important to have individuals who wear the shirt with pride and Muta indicated many times in the past that he loved the Lazio shirt but I guess his decision to take court action vindicates whoevers decision it was to freeze him out. Massimo has proven himself to be disruptive and perhaps he was one of the select bunch who caused trouble in the dressing room last season. That’s just a theory, who knows.

Point is, we couldn’t sell him, we didn’t want him and it had to result in something. Whether this was a good move or a bad move only time will tell but the signs say we are better off without him. Even if he was a passionate player and could have served a purpose.
