Speechless
By: cathal | July 8th, 2009The new shirts have been revealed and I’ve no words for them. They range from the ridiculous to the sublime to the distinctly average or perhaps they’re just hideous? Depends on your taste I guess. Anyway, see what you think below. The strips, in order are home kit, away kit, goalkeeper kit and in the fourth image, you can see the second goalkeeper kit in all its glory.

What do you think? For me, the overall design is hugely flawed. Why the tricolore cockade, our crest and that V-pattern has to overlap in such a confined space is beyond me. The home kit is a disaster in my opinion; the colour combination is poor, it’s as simple as that really. I actually think the away kit is respectable; flawed, but decent nonetheless. The goalkeeper kits are fussy, quite 90’s in their ridiculousness but despite that, they are relatively stylish. I think kids would buy them and while the second one in particular is stereotypically gay and not to everyone’s taste, there is a certain appeal about it.

They are er… interesting. The away kit looks like Bordeaux’s from last season.
The home kit is not so bad I guess. The keeper jerseys are… strangely starting to grow on me.

The saving grace is in January, an Ajax-style 110th anniversary kit will be released so this joke will only be worn for half the season.
Away kit – I like. Looks better than the last one IMO.
and I think you’ll find that fuscia GK kit is actually the main one, not the 2nd one.

Thanks for clearing that up Cristiano.
Whether that Ajax style kit ever comes into fruition is another story. As I said, Lazio marketing are aware of the uproar and I am sure the plans will change regardless of what they say…

I actually gotta apologise, just reading the official site, the pink GK jersey is the 2nd choice, not that means much cause we’ll probably see it quite often anyway.
I got the “ajax-style” info from AvantiLazio a few weeks back, from someone who seems to be in the know. Anniversary kits are nothing new to Lazio, so I reckon it should happen, esp if sales for this “pezzo de merda” are low.
I take it that the yellow kit from this season will now become the 3rd shirt??? Then again I heard a rumour of a potential white strip?? All seems so poorly organised.

What do you expect? It’s Italy.

These kits are horrible and just plain ugly. I have purchased a Lazio jersey for every year now since 1997 but it ends here – I won’t be getting one this year. Hopefully Puma will suffer with sales and will relise that we are a classy team and as a result require jerseys to show the same. Even the new seasons tracksuit is plain wrong!
Forza Lazio!

Cathal, the order of the pics are: HOME, AWAY, 3rd and GK kit. There is no such “2nd” goalkeeper kit!
IMO, those are maybe the ugliest kits Lazio could ever had!
What was puma thinking for this season??? FORZA LAZIO !!!Posted from

Eh?
Ok, we now have three different theories as to what that yellow kit is. Let me do more research.

No, its home, away and the 2 keeper kits.
this quote is taken from our official site – “I portieri, invece, avranno la prima maglia gialla e la seconda rosa.”

On PdL said that the yellow shirt is the 3rd kit, not a gk kit!

These kits are horrible… I definitely will not be picking one up… the kits from 96-98 were even better than these abominations!

Merda! Why is the cup winner’s notation confined in that space. I would prefer it in the middle near the v-neck or on the arm…

The Coppa Italia coccarda should’ve been put on the sleeve. It looks too confined above the crest.

And why is the Coppa Italia badge red, white and Green in the middle? It looks terrible on both the light and dark blues of the Lazio jerseys… they should stick to the traditional Green, white and red in the middle.
This year is just a complete write off already!!

The FIGC changed the Coppa badge a few years ago, that’s the way it is now and has been for a while.
Rocchi will wear the nr.9 from now on. I wonder, is this just an aesthetic change or is it a sign that our old nr.18, a certain Pavel Nedved will join Lazio?
Certainly, Pavel looks like becoming an interista, but this has got me wondering.

Do you guys want him to sign? I thought he’d be like your Cannavaro- Left, and would come back at an old old age.

I think the majority of fans think if he can cut for Juve, he still can at Lazio. Letting bygones be bygones and all that.
If he happens to land here, I will cheer him on like I would any other player but for me, it will be like he has never played here.

The jerseys are horrible. What is that crap around the neck??? Solid colors only please.
Can we go back to the old siemens dark blue jerseys?
Even the jerseys on the wall in the first picture are loads better.

they’re not that terrible. it’s true that they could do without that V on the home shirt, but maybe it could work in a different color. the lazio badge and the coppa italia badge are a bit cramped together though. as for the goalie kit, why all that crap? leave it simple. it should be plain pink and plain yellow, not with all that stuff. as for the pink kit, its certainly flamboyant, but that doesnt make it immediately gay. i think its interesting. still no sponsor eh?
