Tanti Auguri Lichti!
By: cathal | January 16th, 2009I believe today is the 25th birthday of Stephan Lichtsteiner. Having just returned from injury, Lichti is expected to slot straight back into the Lazio backline this weekend against Juventus. Let’s hope he has a good game and can repeat this trick:
For me, Lichti has being highly overlooked this season. He has been classy and consistent, perhaps on a par with Zarate and yet because he is a defender, he gets little credit. What I particularly love about him is his attitude. He plays football like a man, only ever goes down when he is fouled, only ever stays down when he is injured. The guy is incredible. In a sense, I hope the rest of Europe are watching and recognises his ability and talent. On the other hand, I hope they’re not so we can keep the guy for a few seasons. Nevertheless, he has already endeared himself to the tifosi.
There will be two posts tomorrow to compensate for the missed days earlier in the week and of course, one will be the preview.
