These Times They Are A Changing
By: cathal | March 18th, 2009We are moving slowly but surely into the winter phase of the season and as ever, speculation surrounds contract talks, dressing room fallouts and additions to the trophy cabinet. We can draw the parallels to last season if we wish but despite everything that has happened this season, there is a more positive scent in the air than we perhaps expected. Long may it continue.

There have been numerous revelations this season but none more so than fan favourite Foggia. In an interview, Pasquale has pledged his future to the club and expressed his disappointment at missing the derby earlier the season, an occasion he didn’t want to view from the sidelines. I think the little man is really beginning to make an impact on the hardcore tifosi and I think the feelings are reciprocated. He has been a catalyst for us and I hope he can spur us on like I know he wants to.
Muslera has been talking to Corriere dello Sport and has given his opinion on the goalkeeping scenario. Speaking of JP, he said Carrizo is suffering from the same problems he faced when he moved to Serie A last season. I must say I agree with this theory although I feel it’s fairly obvious that neither Nando last year or JP this year had their timing right. Nevertheless, it looks like the Argentine will get his chance to shine in goal this weekend against Catania as Nestor has a minor back injury.

I don’t want to bore anyone with daily updates on Cribari but he is the hot topic at the moment. Apparently Delio is sticking to his original explanation of the substitution; that Emilson was tired and that Lazio needed fresh legs at the back. The irony of all this is the fact that a contract extension for the Brazilian was said to be on the way and now we have a situation where Lotito and Tare are having to invade Formello and converse with the guy. It does seem as if Emilson and Delio have kissed and made up so to speak (an ‘understanding’ was found) but where that leaves the duo at the end of the season remains to be seen. Forza Lazio!

If you haven’t done so already, you can vote on this week’s poll here: http://www.misterpoll.com/polls/425570.
I’m asking you if you want Cribari to stay or go in light of the recent developments.
